Finance Minister Miftah Ismail announced a 15% increase in the salaries of government employees during the presentation of the 2022/2023 budget. Hours before employees were ready to stage a protest demonstration, the federal government agreed Wednesday to raise its salaries from grades 1 to 19 by 15 percent, but excluded about fifty departments. who are already demanding higher wages than standard wages. While article 37 of the Constitution refers to maternity benefits for working women, there are two central laws, one federal and one provincial, which grant maternity benefits to women employed in certain occupations. The Maternity Benefits Ordinance 1958 provides that a female worker may, at the end of a four-month period of employment or waiting, be entitled to prenatal and postnatal leave of up to six weeks, during which she shall receive wages based on her last salary. The regulation applies to all industrial and commercial enterprises employing women, with the exception of tribal areas. It also restricts the dismissal of women during their maternity leave. Similarly, the Mining Maternity Benefits Act 1941 applies to women employed in mines in Pakistan. If the employer`s profit is less than the total monthly salary of all employees, 15% of the profit is distributed to employees in the form of a bonus. If the profit is equal to or greater than the total salary of one month of the workers, 30% of the profit is distributed to the workers in the form of a bonus. The total number of eligible workers employed by the establishment is 30 and receives a total salary of Rs 350,000 per month. (20 workers receive a total monthly salary of Rs 200,000 and 10 workers receive a total monthly salary of Rs 150,000) In the example above, if the total salary for a month is 350,000 rupees and the employer`s profit is 1,000,000 rupees (10 lakh), the profit premium is 300,000 rupees.
The profit premium is 85.71% of the workers` total monthly wage (300,000 rupees/350,000 rupees). Consequently, the premium to be paid to workers would amount to 85.7% of their monthly salary. The bonus paid to a worker (with a gross monthly salary of Rs 20,000) would be Rs 17,140 (Rs 20,000*.857). It is proposed to raise the basic threshold of taxable salary from Rs 6 currently for employees at 12 lakes. This would hand over tens of billions of rupees to employees. 2. A person must be a worker within the meaning of the Standing Orders Ordinance 1968. A worker is any person employed in an industrial or commercial enterprise to perform skilled or unskilled, manual or commercial work for remuneration; Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and ICT: 13,000 The minimum wage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was previously declared PKR 12,000, but was increased to PKR 13,000 in January 2016 with effect from July 2015.
Collective agreements are thus formulated by the CBA. Agreements may include matters such as the company`s facilities for union activities and procedures for resolving collective disputes, including grievances and disciplinary proceedings. Substantive provisions govern conditions of employment, wages, hours of work, holidays and wages, level of performance, job classification, terminations, reductions, sick pay, pension and pension schemes. These agreements, once duly signed by both parties, become the source of law. Agreements should always be written and drafted carefully, as they are intended to resolve disputes, not to raise them. The MW Regulations of 1961 make no mention of the number of hours. However, under the Factories Act, 1934 (sections 34 and 36), no adult worker may or is required to work more than 48 hours per week or 9 hours per day in a factory. The minimum wage is 26 working days).
In a profitable year, the premium must be paid within 3 months after the end of the financial year. It is not permissible to delay the payment of the bonus for any reason, including non-realization of accounts, lack of available funds or relocation of work. In March of last year, the federal government also increased grades 1 to 19 salaries by 25%. Workers protested against wage gaps between different ministries. The Prime Minister of Punjab, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, announced on May Day that the minimum wage for unskilled workers would increase from Rs 13,000 to Rs 14,000 per month from July 2016 (the same was repeated by the Minister of Finance – Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha – during the budget presentation on June 13, 2016). The Minister of Finance (Mr. Ishaq Dar) increased the minimum wage rate for unskilled workers from Rs 13,000 to Rs. during the announcement of the federal budget (2016-17) on June 3, 2016. 14,000 per month from July 2016 (applies to the Capital Territory Islamabad). Sindh`s Finance Minister (Syed Murad Ali Shah) increased the minimum wage for unskilled workers from Rs during the announcement of Sindh`s budget (2016-17) on June 11, 2016.
